From a crossbody/gilet hybrid to technical travel clothing, March popped with a host of new drops across urban, outdoor, and travel spheres alike. Let’s delve in and check out some of the month’s best new gear below.

EDC

Micro Knife

Smaller than your pinky, the Micro Knife fits compactly on a keychain so it’s always ready to handle day-to-day cutting needs. The knife has a drop-point M390 steel blade with a nail nick to aid opening and comes in steel or titanium options for the body. Versatile for opening boxes, cutting cords, accessing food packaging, and more, this petite but practical EDC knife keeps carry bulk to a minimum while delivering functional everyday cutting capabilities.

Field Notes “The Chicago Look” Edition

Field Notes "The Chicago Look" Edition

A trusty notebook is a hard-working addition to any EDC setup, ready for brainstorming, to-do lists, doodles, and more. And Field Notes always excel at delivering practical and eye-catching designs that merit a spot in your daily carry. Their latest release, the “The Chicago Look” Edition, is an excellent example of noteworthy notebooks. The limited-edition release celebrates the history of American mid-century sign design and typography through the Beverly Sign Co. Based in Chicago, the company was one of the most influential sign-painting firms in the US, and their design style of panelized compositions, bold colors, and diagonal “strike-thru” influenced the covers of this Field Notes release. The collection features two covers created in the style of Beverly’s pencil sketches by Chicago-based Heart & Bone Signs and Bob Behounek. Additionally, the collection also welcomes a new notebook size for Field Notes. The 6″ × 8″ notebooks have 64 pages graph-ruled in “Non-Repro Blue”, a shade that’s easy to remove from photostats or scans of black-and-white artwork.

Helle 2025 Limited Edition Fjording 50 aar

Helle 2025 Limited Edition Fjording 50 år

That blade, called the Fjording, is now 50 years old, and to celebrate, Helle is introducing the Fjording 50 aar. With a limited edition of 1000 pieces, the new knife maintains many of the defining attributes of the original knife while updating the materials. The original came with a thinner carbon steel, while the modern interpretation is equipped with thicker Laminate H3LC steel. The handle is made of curly birch, stabilized green curly birch, and leather. This reduces surface tension and forces water and dirt to roll off them. The pants and shorts feature three pockets with concealed lockable zippers. The Planet Earth Ultralight Shell is crafted with a technical three-layer material from Schoeller, with a bionic weatherproof membrane that opens and closes in the heat, while a diamond-structured weave on the exterior surface provides lightweight strength. Nodus Obscura Watch

Nodus Obscura Watch

Nodus is a watch company that we’d all like to run. Helmed by friends Wes and Cullen, they have been releasing hit after hit and seemingly do whatever they feel like without the red tape and complexities that many larger brands face. Take their latest release, developed in collaboration with Beers & Cameras, the Obscura. A project hailing from the Nodus Design Lab, the timepiece is an industry first, featuring the Sunny 16 Rule via a patented Exposure Gauge complication. Many photographers start out learning the Sunny 16 rule, a reliable mainstay of film photography, as a clever way to gauge daylight exposure without a light meter. Now, with the Nodus Obscura (which itself is an IFYKYK name), one can simply align the bezel, aperture, and ISO markers to determine the correct shutter speed for the perfect shot.

The Obscura is a 38mm stainless steel case with a DLC-coated bronze bezel meant to patina over time. A bi-directional bezel with just 16 clicks spans aperture values from f/16 to f1.4mm. This watch is the perfect companion for shooting with old-school bodies without a built-in light meter.

Buck Mason has teamed up with iconic American denim brand Lee to launch a collaboration that puts the spotlight on updates to three of Lee’s heritage styles. The menswear collection features Lee’s 101B jean, 101J Rider jacket, and 91B zippered work jacket, recut from patterns from the 1940s. The two companies made nearly stitch-by-stitch reconstructions of the jean and Rider jackets and this time crafted them in a Japanese loomstate selvedge denim and a Japan-milled 100% cotton herringbone twill. The 91B jacket, originally in denim, has been updated with Buck Mason’s Rambler Suede. Each item in the capsule received archival trim details such as Japanese hardware and a gold and black Lee label.

It uses 310 GSM cotton jersey and is inspired by ‘90s crewnecks with a straight hemline, longer sleeves, and a wide-ribbed collar.

Arcade has one very simple goal–they want to make belts better. And they’re doing it, creating more durable, functional, and comfortable designs for outdoor, everyday, and travel wear. Now their expertise comes together in a new design, the Arcade Motion Belt. Elegantly fusing comfort, practicality, and refined style, the Motion Belt moves effortlessly from the office to weekend getaways and everywhere in between.

Arcade Motion Belt

Stretch and Sheen

Arcade’s new flagship lifestyle belt features innovative first-to-market webbing that combines natural rubber and polypropylene created from repurposed, post-industrial plastic scrap. This gives the webbing an attractive satin finish and just enough stretch to ensure all-day comfort.

Natural rubber and polypropylene webbing

Lightweight Customized Comfort

The buckle is intentionally designed with mixed materials to deliver lightweight strength and functionality. While eliminating the weight penalty of a completely metal buckle. The motion features a low profile with a side-release, three-piece design that tapers at the ends. This thoughtful detail that allows the belt to pass easily through belt loops. The micro-adjustable buckle system also lets you dial in your perfect fit, so you really do get custom comfort. And pesky excess webbing isn’t an issue either thanks to an elastic loop that secures the webbing neatly in place.

Arcade tapered buckle

Easy Care, Easy Style

The Motion Belt is built with longevity in mind–to look and perform like new year after year. But if you feel the need to give it a refresh, it’s machine-washable for easy care, with air drying recommended to keep the belt in its prime.

Stretch belt

It’s also available in four attractive colorways including black-black, black-nickel, brown-nickel, and charcoal-gunmetal. Easy to pair with casual and formal outfits alike, this belt will become a wardrobe staple with its sleek performance and understated aesthetic. And with a retail price of $54.95, it offers solid value for money too.

Mk II Watches Fulcrum

Best New Gear - Mk II Fulcrum

Based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Mk II watches (pronounced Mark Two), have just launched the Fulcrum, which is a revisit of a preceding model, originally released in 2013. This new release gives the watch company a chance to refine and improve on their vision of the perfect 1970’s tool watch. It represents an intersection of design elements from issued watches US Forces soldiers would have used or been exposed to during duty in Vietnam or in training with their UK counterparts during this period. Mk II is the civilian arm of Tornek-Rayville and the Fulcrum offers an accessible alternative to watches only issued to those in service.

The Fulcrum 39 is a self-winding dive watch that’s been sized down to 39mm. It has lume at cardinal points of 12, 3, 6, and 9, with an optional datewheel at the 4:30 position. The case is made for maximum convenience with a screw-in case tube, drilled 20mm lugs, and a comfortable caseback. The stainless bezel is uni-directional with 120 clicks with an improved spring. It has a true anodized aluminum inlay that offers better impact resistance, while the double-domed crystal is AR-coated on the interior. The Fulcrum is powered by a Japanese 9015-90S5 movement to provide excellent accuracy and a lower cost of long-term ownership compared to the previous Soprod A10. Finally, the bracelet includes solid end links with quick-release spring bars and features the NodeX quick extension clasp. The watch also comes with a Nytex nylon strap as well as a rubber strap; both in 20 mm widths.

Vollebak Antarctic Sweater – Light Blue Edition

Vollebak Antarctic Sweater - Light Blue Edition

The Guernsey sweater has been worn in some of the most demanding conditions on earth, by the likes of Ernest Shackleton and British and Irish fishermen who had to endure the harsh existence of life at sea. So Vollebak have paid tribute to this iconic piece with their own take on it, the Antarctic Sweater. It’s made with super-fine merino wool spun by a historic woollen mill on the coast of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Wind and water-resistant, while also insulating and breathable, the sweater features four different knitted textures across the body, collar, arms, and cuffs to maximize warmth. The body uses a rugged seed stitching to keep wind at bay, while a thick rib pattern on the high collar creates structure. A geometric zig-zag texture on the cuffs helps them cinch around your wrists, while the arms feature textures designed to mimic muscle patterns. And with the new launch of the Light Blue edition, it’s the perfect nod to seascapes and adventures off the beaten path.

Sheep Inc. Mountain Crewneck

Best New Gear - Sheep Inc. Mountain Crewneck

Sheep Inc. welcomes the latest addition to their carbon-negative knitwear collection with the Mountain Crewneck. Launching ahead of the World Ski Championships in Saalbach Austria, the piece is inspired by the Zwölferkogel peak in Hinterglemm near Salzburg where the championship races will take place, and nods to the brand co-founder Michael Wessely’s Austrian roots. The sweater is made in the UK using carbon-negative raw materials and renewable energy and comes in options for men and women. Available in Fawn Brown, Cobalt Blue, and Burnt Orange, it’s crafted with 100% traceable ZQ-certified merino wool for a breathable, moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating design that moves easily from après-ski to everyday wear.

Filson x Ten Thousand Collection

Best New Gear - Filson x Ten Thousand Collection

Filson and Ten Thousand have teamed up on a new three-piece capsule collection that blends Filson’s hard-wearing durability and exclusive color palette with Ten Thousand’s cutting-edge approach to training gear for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. The collection includes the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Hoodie, the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Shirt, and the Filson x Ten Thousand Tactical Shorts. Each piece is made from durable, breathable materials for excellent mobility and performance during high-intensity activities. And they’ve been tested by the Seattle Seawolves rugby team to ensure long-lasting functionality.

Vollebak Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema

Vollebak Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema

Dyneema is the strongest fiber on earth, 15x stronger than steel on a weight-for-weight basis yet light enough to float on water. And Vollebak have incorporated this wonder fiber in two new releases, the Ultralight Puffer with Dyneema and Ultralight Puffer Vest with Dyneema. The puffer comes in Black and Khaki, while the vest comes in Black and Blue options. The vest weighs just 320 grams, with the jacket weighing only 450 grams. Each is reinforced with thousands of ultralight strands of 50-denier Dyneema, with each Dyneema strand placed just two millimeters apart for excellent reinforcement against scuffs and scrapes. Each piece also features recycled down insulation cleaned with geothermal water from natural springs.

Reigning Champ Lightweight Cordura Training Gear

Reigning Champ Lightweight Cordura

Reigning Champ, the versatile and often experimental clothing brand hailing from Canada, just dropped three new performance styles made from a next-level Japanese Cordura fabric that promises to be as soft as a t-shirt but as durable as your favorite pack.

This Lightweight Cordura is an advanced training fabric that combines the durability of Cordura with the comfort of knit construction. RC designed the pieces in their signature standard fit, with semi-raglan sleeves, underarm gussets, and bonded side panels. The pieces on offer include a t-shirt, long-sleeve, and tank top.

Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats Collection

Best New Gear - Buck Mason Welterweight Sweats Collection

You might not have explicitly known it, but you’ve experienced the lightweight journey sweats have taken. In reality, after the 1960’s, American athletic apparel shifted to more durable, lightweight, cotton jersey knits. This new collection from Buck Mason harkens back to the days when athletic sweats were beefier. Their Welterweight collection employs the same construction methods standard in those days, starting with a mid-weight French terry knit with brushed insides for softness. The dense fabric uses a series of flatlock stitching, ribbing the collar, cuffs, and hems, with ribbed gussets at the stress points for durability. The collection includes a hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, sweatshirt, and quarter zip in various colorways.

Mission Workshop Westward Pea Coat

Best New Gear - Mission Workshop Westward Pea Coat

In a bittersweet moment, Mission Workshop was able to squeeze in a final style to their Schoeller collection before the Swiss factory closes their doors, at the end of 2025. The 3-layer waterproof softshell Schoeller fabric from which the Westward Pea Coat is constructed is windproof, highly water-resistant, and breathable. The pea coat features a wool/nylon stretch-woven exterior, a soft micro-fleece interior, and a waterproof mid-layer membrane. The outer is treated with Schoeller’s NanoSphere, ensuring exceptional water and dirt repellence.

Vuarnet Winter 2025 Collection

As part of its brand relaunch, dubbed “IT’S A VUARNET DAY,” the legendary French eyewear company is set to unveil a new collection for Fall Winter 24/25. It is meant to invoke a renewed commitment to adventure, style, and authenticity, bridging Vuarnet’s past with a fresh vision for the future.

Knog Scout Travel Tag

Knog Scout Travel Tag

Some believe that the days of carry-on luggage are numbered. Once the preferred method of carry for travelers due to the convenience, safety, and no-fee nature, the method may have proven too popular, leading to insufficient room in the overhead bins. Security is paramount if travelers are forced to move to using checked luggage. Knog, known for its lights and other cycling accessories, has just introduced the Scout Travel, a smart luggage tag, finder, and alarm. The sleek device is available in five colors. It has a QR code to store your contact information and integrates with Apple’s Find My network to quickly locate your luggage anytime and anywhere. Finally, it has a motion-sensitive 85 dB alarm, which can also send a notification to your phone (if it’s within Bluetooth range).

Pelican TRVL Luggage

Pelican TRVL Luggage

Pelican, the brand best known for making rugged cases, has taken the next step in its evolution, a move that surprised no one. The new TRVL collection is its luggage line, which consists of three new categories, two entirely new. Anchoring the collection is the original AIR line, which comprises its tried and true hard cases designed for transporting delicate and expensive equipment through the harshest conditions. The Aegis is a new hybrid offering of rolling duffels that can also be worn as a backpack. It protects like a hard case with the versatility of a soft case. Finally, the ATX, also known as Adventure Travel X-Over, is the offering that most closely resembles traditional civilian air travel luggage. Available in three sizes (carry-on and two additional check-in sizes), the ATX hard-sided roller luggage offers protection plus interior organization.

Visibility is a crucial element for staying safe in harsh alpine environments. So integrating bright colorways became a key design feature across many outdoor clothing brands. Those vibrant, eye-catching colorways seen on snowy slopes in grueling mountain climbs served a vital purpose, helping intrepid explorers to stand out in case search and rescue was required. Not to mention easily keeping tabs on fellow party members throughout expeditions. Of course, those statement colors also exuded a certain kind of fashion flair, which made its way off the slopes and onto city streets.

EVERGOODS Expedition Yellow Capsule

So when EVERGOODS were considering their winter 2024 capsule, they turned to vintage outdoor catalogs and historic photos of summit ascents for inspiration. While their gear isn’t designed to conquer the extremes of Everest, their crossover designs harness the utility of outdoor-focused performance and pair it with urban functionality and style. And Expedition Yellow salutes both these spheres.

EVERGOODS Expedition Yellow Capsule

Inspired By Mountains, Ready For Every Day

The Expedition Yellow capsule features four EVERGOODS pieces: the MOUNTAIN Panel Loader 22L, the CIVIC Access Pouch 2L, the CIVIC Access Pouch 0.5L, and the ELEMENT Flat Pouch. The shell and lining materials remain the same for the capsule collection as their standard counterparts, with the only difference being a change to the shell and trim colors.

MPL22

The MPL22 is a great option for staying agile on the trail, with panel-loading access and useful but uncluttered interior and exterior organization. Add in its adaptability to move from dirt tracks to city pavements, and you have a versatile all-rounder for daily commutes and downtime adventures.

EVERGOODS Expedition Yellow Capsule

The CAP2 is an icon of organization in its own right, with a self-standing, wide-opening design that creates a mini workstation on the go. Interior pockets, an adjustable divider, and 360-degree padding make this a handy pouch for tech, camera accessories, travel items, and general EDC too.

CAP2

The CAP0.5 is a nifty option if you’re seeking a smaller pouch, with a wide-opening design that lays flat like a tray for convenient access. Interior zippered pockets provide organization, while 360-degree padding protects your gear. The multifunctional design works equally well as a stationery pouch, tool pouch, tech kit, or small toiletry kit, making it a useful addition to both everyday and travel setups.

An adaptive backpack first created for Paralympic athletes, sustainable snowsports apparel, and sleek titanium EDC were just some of the standout offerings in November. Delve into the month’s best new gear right here.

EDC

Prometheus Design Werx SPD Ti-BarT

Best New Gear - Prometheus Design Werx SPD Ti-BarT

PDW offers an elegant take on the pocket pry bar with the Ti-BarT. Crafted with 6AL-4V titanium, the pry bar features details such as fine jimping, recessed hardware, and a fully chamfered edge. In addition to a pry bar, it also offers additional tools such as a bottle cap lifter, a hex bit driver integrated into the pocket clip, and an oxygen/gas tank wrench.

The James Brand × Timex Automatic GMT Emerald Edition

Best New Gear - The James Brand × Timex Automatic GMT Emerald Edition

Portland-based The James Brand is back with another one of their series of homerun collaborations with watchmaker Timex. They applied their aesthetic to a GMT wristpiece imbued in a jade-link emerald hue this time around. The titanium case has a case diameter of 41mm and is sandwiched in sapphire windows with an AR coating in front and a display back showing off the movement. The Automatic GMT is powered by the Miyota 9075, and you’ll be using a unidirectional bezel to track two additional time zones. It is water resistant to 200 meters and comes with both a titanium bracelet and resin strap attached to 20mm lugs. This watch is limited to 750 units.

Sanctum Titanium Hard Bar Kickstarter

Sanctum Titanium Hard Bar Kickstarter

At first glance, it’s difficult to grasp what Sanctum’s first product launch entails. It consists of two parts – the Hard Bar and the Overlord. Starting with the Hard Bar, you have a 5.2” titanium rigid sheath with an integral pocket clip, keychain hole, Ultem insert/window, a carabiner hole, and a main pry bar. Despite being made of lightweight material, the Hard Bar is a solid chunk of metal. What makes the whole package interesting is the Overlord, which is a stainless steel fixed-blade knife with just a 1.6” blade length. The unique feature here is how the knife sheaths into the pry bar via a compliant locking mechanism. It’s super satisfying and almost fidgety. The knife itself features a mini prybar/scraper of its own and a bottle opener at the top. So what’s the star of the show here? Is it the knife that fits in an interesting way into a titanium sheath? Or is it a chunky pry bar hiding a tiny knife when you need something sharper than a wedge? We’re leaning towards the latter here, but regardless of your use case, the Sanctum has you covered.

The James Brand Bolen Twist Pen

Best New Gear - The James Brand Bolen Twist Pen

The James Brand does an amazing job of advancing each of its categories in step with one another so no one area feels left behind. To that end, they just added the Bolen, a titanium twist-retractable pen, to their stables. The slim design was meant for pocket carry, and the twist mechanism means that there is no need to worry about a cap going missing or an accidental activation with a button. It uses the popular G2 Parker style refills, which are varied and plentiful.
